Generosity is the word of the month. This time of year we give gifts to show our appreciation and love for others. It is not always necessary to buy a gift. It is just as important to share ourselves with others. There are many ways to be charitable and unselfish. To donate gifts or belongings or just volunteer our time.
Last week the first grade classes at WOS gathered together in the gymnasium to see how many box tops had already been collected for the Ronald McDonald House. This a nonprofit organization whose mission is to create, find and support programs that directly improve the health and well being of children.
Many children have been bringing in Covered Cupboards to assist the elderly in our community when a hot meal cannot be delivered due to bad weather.

Read and listen to the Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein. What were all the different ways the tree gave to the boy throughout his life? Even though the tree receives nothing in return, take a moment to think about how giving made this tree happy.
Here are a two things to think about:
- When you give something to someone, do you expect something in return?
- How do you feel when you are generous?
Can you share a time when you were generous to someone else?
Be generos
I am generous when I share my toys with my baby sister.
My baby sister does not give me anything back but I still share with her. I feel good because I know I am being nice.
I feel generous when i share my toys with my little cousins .
i feel generous when i play with my babysister
I do not expect anything in return when i give something. I feel good when I am generous.
Being generous is nice.
