DeWint House

Today we took a walking field trip to the DeWint House in Tappan.  The DeWint House was George Washington's temporary headquarters on four separate occasions during the American Revolutionary War.  First we visited the "Carriage House" which is a museum with displays and artifacts from this time period.  Then we headed over to the DeWint House with our tour guides Mr. and Mrs. Jones.  The DeWint House has been restored to the condition and appearance it had during Washington's four visits.  This was a wondeful learning experience about life long ago.
