Mindfulness

A basic definition of mindfulness is being consciously aware of your thoughts and emotions. Being mindful has many important benefits. The Mood Meter, meditation, PACE, yoga and breathing exercises are some examples of mindfulness in our classroom. We loved having Coach O’Rourke in our classroom yesterday to help support our mindful journey. Reflect on the ways that we are mindful. What way(s) do you enjoy?
How does it help you?

  1. The way I like to be mindful is by PACE. When I do not feel like I can do something, or I am struggling,I like to rub my brain buttons, and then I feel relaxed.

  2. After doing this activity it made me more focused and also it made me more peaceful. PACE is a very good activity and it helps alot when you are stressed and you want to calm down. The breathing exercises really help.

  3. Thanks for all the feedback. If you feel like it’s a good time for us to PACE ourselves and we haven’t yet during the school day or you feel like we need to do it again, don’t be afraid to let us know. We love when our students start to initiate these strategies on their own!
