What is Victoria’s story?

In library, we have been learning about a girl named Victoria. We learned about Victoria by looking at primary source documents. Primary Sources are a first-hand, original account, record, or evidence about a person, place, object, or an event. To learn more about what a primary source is, watch the extranormal video below.

Below are the four documents we studied using a three-step process: “Observe, Reflect, Question.” We worked together in groups and shared our thinking. As we examined the primary source documents we looked for clues about the life of Victoria.

  1. Victoria lived in the time of black and white photos. She lived in the USA, after arriving on a boat from Argentina. She lived in an apartment, and she lived in a city. She is 10 years old. Her last name is Confino.

  2. she lived in a 6 floor apartment building, maybe in New York city. There was a book store in the bottom of her apartment building. It had a downstairs. She was on an island before.

  3. Victoria was born in a different country. When Victoria was 10 she went on a boat that took her to America. Even though she had 6 people in her family, but only 5 people came on the boat ride. When Victoria arrived at America she lived in a brick building above a store.

  4. Victoria arrived on the boat from Patras , Argentina.She lived in apartment building with store on first floor with her parents and 3 siblings. Her last name was Confino.
