“Risk Factors” of Pancreatic Cancer
Genetics: 5% to 10% of people with Pancreatic Cancer have an immediate family member who also had it.
Diabetes: It’s not a proven fact but over the years diabetes and Pancreatic cancer have been linked.
Smoking: Cigarette smoking is known to increase your risk of having any cancer not just Pancreatic cancer. 10 years after quitting smoking, your risk becomes the risk of a normal person.
Obesity and Inactivity: When inactive and obese your body doesn’t work the same as if you were exercising and eating healthy. Your body will not be able to fight and you’ll be at risk of cancer.
Diet: A high diet in fat and meat is proven to be linked with pancreatic cancer.
Nutrients: Two key nutrients to keep a healthy body are Lycopene and Selenium. They help lower your chance of getting Pancreatic cancer. (Fruits and Nuts have a lot)
