Week of Reflection – June 15th

This week is dedicated to reflection.  “Reflection is an integral part of the learning process. It allows us to learn more about ourselves and how we learn, but it also aids us in improving academic skills. Consider sports teams that watch film of the previous night’s game. They’re able to identify mistakes and correct them at practice.”

Here are two assignments for the week:

• Mrs. McBride’s Report Card regarding Distant Learning – I’d love for you to evaluate our distance learning time.  If this continues in the Fall, I would like you to share your experience with me, so I can improve.
• Creative Writing – You are to write your own report card comment. Use this google form to answer five short answers. Use these five sentences to write a paragraph about yourself this year – Your Report Card Comment.  This is a reflection piece about your year with me or any other teacher at Cottage Lane.  Have fun with it!

Here are a few examples:

• xxxx is a hard working student, independently and with other children. In creativity xxxx enjoyed and understood the concept of outside the lines. But she did struggle a little bit with Smart Mouth. She worked well with the Rubix’s Cube and I could she she practiced at home because she borrowed the instructions manual on how to solve the Rubik’s Cube.  xxxxx is always excited to come into class every Wednesday.  I believe xxxxx can work even harder at all these things and I hope she continues to do great things!
• xxxxxx is a good student. He always tries something new.He is very problem solving he loves 3 games tic tac to mancala and checkers .He is creative by writing I Is For An Idea.He enjoys watching videos I encourage him to comment on the blog and participate in monthly challenges.
• Whenever I see xxxx, she makes me smile! She always follows directions and is very responsible. xxxxx is reliable on handing in her homework and always volunteers in class.   have noticed that xxxx enjoyed finding 100 adjectives that describe her. She also liked doing stop motion videos. xxxxx loved learning about the stock market.  The only thing I think xxxx needs to work on is posting more on the blog. Other than that, she is an amazing student!;)
