election-2016The United States presidential election of 2016 takes place on Tuesday, November 8, 2016. Voters will select presidential electors, who in turn will vote for a new president and vice president through the Electoral College. These results will decide the 58th quadrennial U.S. presidential election. PBS LearningMedia has some great resources to help engage you in the political process.

Some authors had fun with presidential elections by writing books such as: Duck for President by Doreen Cronin, Grace for President by Kelly DiPucchio and My Teacher for President by Kay Winters. Let’s have some fun ourselves this 2016 election! This month’s challenge is the “Patriotic Coffee Cup Election Challenge”. Your job is to design, decorate and create a coffee cup that supports YOU for President. The coffee cup can be a disposable, recycled or re-used cup from any take out venue.

Your “Patriotic Coffee Cup Election Challenge” must include:

  • Title (example: Jackie for President)417wv53mNmL
  • Photo of yourself.
  • Your Presidential slogan.
  • Three things you would like to achieve as President of the United States.
  • Feel free to fill up your “Patriotic Coffee Cup Election Challenge” with your ideas on the inside too!
  • All entries are DUE Monday, November 7th. No exceptions.
  • Be patriotic, and
  • BE CREATIVE!
