The Technology Explore program provides students with an experience in integrating Science, Technology, Engineering and Math to solve problems. The Engineering Design loop is used as students learn to safely use tools and materials to create and problem solve. Students are in the Technology Explore class for 1/5th of the year (Grade 6) or 1/4th of the year (Grades 7 & 8). In grade 7 a Technology Assessment test is given- students who score high enough have the option of taking a DDP (Design and Drawing for Production) class in Grade 8 – that class is a full year class taken in place of other explore classes and if students fufill all requirements they will receive high school credit.
