Assignments are being uploaded into google classroom.  You are not obligated to complete these assignments yet.  If you would like to go ahead and complete the work you may do so BUT IT IS NOT MANDATORY as of this date.

We will be using Google classroom along with the online text book and the class blog to communicate.  Please take a moment and join google classroom using the class codes below if you have’t done so already.

Debate Tomorrow

Lawyers must have:

Prepared opening statement 30-60 secs

Prepared argument on what kind of leader there should be 30-60 secs

Prepared argument on Legislature 30-60 secs

Prepared closing statement 30-60 secs

Jury must have:

Prepared questions to ask tomorrow during the debate

3/11 – 3/12

Questions to be Debated

  • Should there be a leader? How much power should the leader have? How long should the leader serve?
  • Should there be a Legislature or Congress to make the laws? How should representatives in the Legislature be determined? By population or Equal per state?  Should slaves count as part of the population of a state?

Lawyers – Develop opening and closing statements.  Develop argumentative statements and cross examination questions for the topics listed above.

Jury – Create 15 – 20 cross examination questions per person with anticipated answers.

Weekly Outline Constitutional Convention Debate

3/9- Work on Graphic Organizer using resources provided on the blog.

3/10- Use additional resources (text, internet, etc) to add extra information to your graphic organizer. Graphic Organizer should be completed this day

3/11- 3/12- Lawyers will work on cross examinations and defense, opening and closing statements.  Jury members will create 15-20 potential cross examination questions with anticipated responses

3/13 – Periods 1,8,9 Debate
