Congratulations to our class on being the AOK winners of the month for Citizenship!! We earned a special lunch with Dr. Lee!!

We had a fun time celebrating Halloween and walking in the parade!

Thank you, Mr. Sharkey and all Veterans for serving our country!

Mr. Sharkey spoke at our assembly today.  His experiences helped us to understand the sacrifices soldiers make to ensure we are safe. He also helped us to appreciate all of our freedoms that we get to enjoy because we are citizens of the United States of America.

Don’t forget to thank a Veteran tomorrow and every day of the year. Here is a great way to show your gratitude.

For the next few weeks, TZE’s Character Education Program will focus on the character trait, Responsibility.Responsibility is being accountable for your actions. It is the ability to act independently and make decisions without someone telling you the right thing to do. Students will earn dots for being responsible for themselves and others.

• We use our thoughts, words and actions to help others.
• We respect others opinions even we they are different from our own.
• We care about others rights and well-being.
• We set aside our own needs to help others.
• We understand that no one is more important or better than others. We are all equal.
• We wish others to have the same privileges as ourselves.
• We are fair and act honestly even when no one is watching.

• Boxes for Katje from Reading Rainbow:
• Remember to bring in ¬¬¬¬¬________ and candy for “Boxes for Soldiers.” Together we can be responsible and help others in need. Now pretend you are one of the townspeople from Olst and write a letter to Rosie.

We reached our class behavioral goal for the month and we were rewarded with painting pumpkins!! Congratulations on working as a team!!!

On Friday, October 17 students and staff at TZE wore pink to support Breast Cancer Awareness! We were proud to wear our pink!! Brendan received lots of compliments throughout the day for his creative “pink shirt”!

On Friday, October 17, the Piermont Fire Department visited TZE to teach us about fire safety and to show us all of their rescue equipment. We are always look forward to their visit and are thankful for the goodies they give us! Please don’t forget to share the fire safety rules with your family!

We had a great time on our annual health walk!!! Thank  you to Mr. Marasigan for taking some pictures and sharing them with us!

On Friday, October 10th children’s author and illustrator Matt Tavares visited us at TZE. He talked about his new book Growing up Pedro and the process of writing a children’s book. Isabella was lucky to be chosen to model for a sketch with the author! Check out the link to his website for more info!
