We have been reviewing story elements this week. As a culminating activity, each group created a poster to go along with some of the read alouds we have done so far this year. Groups had to identify the title, characters, setting, problem, and solution. Our mentor texts were Thank You Mr. Falker, Big Al, Teammates, Chrysanthemum, Pigsty, and The Magnificent Thing.
We are looking forward to starting our first class chapter read aloud on Stone Fox this Monday. We will be identifying more story elements throughout the book, and students will begin practicing post-it notes during independent reading!
I liked the book, Teammates, that my table got. The reason I like it is because I am interested in Jackie Robinson’s and Pee Wee Reese’s careers.
I enjoyed making the yellow table poster because we got to share it when Miss Williams was here. I had stage fright! But then, I found out that it was not too bad?
