Get to it!

YouareawesomeWhat will you do to be awesome?  Every year you come to school ready to grow academically, socially, and physically.  Many of you set goals on the first day to study more, complete homework, work harder, etc. but what do you really want to do?  The Huffington Post recently wrote an article encouraging students to set goals that are "non-academic." Think about what you really want to accomplish in order to better yourselves.  Here are a few suggestions to help you get your thoughts going:

  • Make a new friend outside your "group." Find someone that you normally wouldn't hang out with and strike up a conversation.  You never know what you might find in common.
  • Find and finish that book that you always heard others talk about but didn't make time to read it.
  • Go to sleep earlier. Put down all electronics at night and get a good night's rest.
  • Learn something new for you – sign language, coding, guitar lessons, etc.
  • Eat healthier. Don't wait for New Year's. Start now.
  • Make a commitment to exercise and be more active.
  • Commit to making the Earth a better place by picking up garbage once a week around your school, house, or community.

What is your goal and get to it? Here is a pep talk to help you get started.  Post your goal(s) to this blog.
