Cottage Lane Elementary School third-grader Clara R. was nominated by teacher Tamara Greene, and School Nurse Jen Hind to be a New York Jets Upstander for her kindness and support of others: “Clara recently made a conscious decision to go and sit with a student whom she noticed was by himself. Although he is not a student she usually sits with, it was evident that she didn’t want him to sit alone.” Reflecting on her Upstander recognition, Clara said it feels good to help others. Keep up the great work, Clara!
This is the first year that Cottage Lane Elementary School has participated in the New York Jets and Stomp Out Bullying’s Upstander of the Week program, which aims to reduce and prevent bullying nationwide. Those recognized receive a t-shirt, two tickets to a Jets home game and a parking pass.
