Myron Uhlberg wrote Dad,Jackie, and me and it is our book of the month. This story of a young boy and his hearing-impaired father shows how their love of baseball—and their admiration for the newest player for the Brooklyn Dodgers, Jackie Robinson—brings them closer together. As their shared passion in the great American pastime helps to deepen the relationship between father and son, it also deepens their understanding and acceptance of the differences between people.
“The only way to have a friend is to be one.”
~Ralph Waldo Emerson
Friendship is one of the best aspects of life.
Friendship is a close relationship between two people marked by feelings of care, respect, admiration, concern, or even love.

Every child has the right to a good night. Every night in America, too many children go to sleep uncertain of what tomorrow will bring, compromising their health, school performance, and emotional well-being. At Pajama Program, we promote and support a comforting bedtime routine to help all children thrive by providing cozy pajamas, inspiring storybooks, and critical resources for caregivers. After all, Good Nights Are Good Days.
“Acceptance is not love. You love a person because he or she has lovable traits, but you accept everybody just because they’re alive and human.” ~ Albert Ellis
Acceptance is the willingness to embrace feelings, habits, or beliefs that are different from your own.
Acceptance is the ability to experience or survive something unpleasant.
Acceptance is the willingness to tolerate a difficult or unpleasant situation.
We all have the human need and right to be accepted.

September isCommunities Show Empathy. It is the 18th Anniversary of September 11th. There were many courageous people who died that day. This left others wanting to help and show empathy in some way. We as a community want to create the same atmosphere at Cottage Lane. “Because there is no nation so powerful it cannot be wounded, nor a people so small they cannot offer mighty comfort.” As a school community we want to show empathy to others just like the small village in 14 Cows for America. Click the photo to hear the history of this bell. Look for the bell in the main hallway at Cottage Lane.
