Listen to a read aloud, read independently or buddy read:
- Draw a detailed picture of the setting or a scene from the book.
- Draw a series of 3-4 pictures to show the sequence of events in the story.
- Write a summary of the events.
- Choose 2 vocabulary words from the text. Write the definition of the word and draw a picture.
- Word hunt-pick 10 words from the story and write their parts of speech. eg. run-verb, Jason-noun, school-noun, red-adjective, bright-adjective
- Write 3 sentences using your response starters.
- Write a detailed connection to the story (text-self, text-text, text-world)
- Write down 2 facts and 2 opinions about the story.
