Are you going to be attending Tappan Zee High School during our 2018-2019 season? Then you’re in luck! SO BOTZ is currently recruiting members for our upcoming season. This year’s game: Destination Deep Space.
SO BOTZ offers a wide range of positions and requires people with many different talents and skills. Our team is divided in to four sub-teams:
- Build Team: This team is responsible for putting together our robot. Members design the robot using CAD technology and build the mechanical and electrical components of the robot. During build season, this team also constructs field elements so that our drive team can practice with the robot
- Software Development Team: This team is responsible for programming the robot’s functions in Java, including drive functions and other auxiliary functions. Although many of our coders take computer science courses at the high school, this is not a requirement.
- Communications Team: This team is responsible for all of our team outreach. This includes fundraising, social media, website design, and other event planning.
- Business Team: This team is responsible for all business functions of our team. This includes managing our budget and creating a business plan for the 2018-2019 season.
