Curriculum and Instruction

The SOCSD team presented at the National Science Teachers Association Conference in Atlanta! Samantha Levine and and Brian Newburger (Instructional Science Coaches) and Brian Culot (Assistant Superintendent), gave two presentations on “The Role of Science Coaches” and “How to start a School Maker Faire”. All of the presentations were well attended.

Cottage Lane Elementary School Fifth-Grade Teacher Ms. Kottie Christie-Blick and Technology Teacher Mr. Jacob Tanenbaum presented on “Digital Natives Use 3-D Learning to Collaborate on Climate Change” and were recognized by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Planet Stewards for their work! The CLE student website kidsagainstclimatechange.com was also featured in the Mid-Level Science Education Share-A-Thon session.
