A Seed is the Start

Kindergarten students will read, A Seed Is the Start by Melissa Stewart. Prior to reading the nonfiction title, students will observe a lima bean that has been soaked overnight. Students will discuss what they think is inside of the seed and draw a picture of what they find inside.

While reading the book students will learn the many ways seeds are dispersed. Students will add to their index card and draw a picture showing how they would most like to be dispersed. We will graph, which seed dispersal method is most popular in the class? Which is least popular?
