The Rockland County Solid Waste Management Authority works hard to conserve resources and reduce waste disposal costs through their comprehensive recycling program. Did you know that your municipality receives $35 for every ton of recyclables collected? That sure beats spending $76 a ton to transport it to a landfill. Let’s do our part!
Over vacation, the blue recycle bins were removed from your classroom. It is the intention of the Earth Kids Club to visit your classroom, bring back the blue recycle bin and share what items to toss into your recycling bins and what items to leave out! Stay tuned for the sign up!
The next six week cycle of the Earth Kids Club is Tuesday, January 9th to February 13th. We are moving forward with our current 12 memebers but would like to exponentially grow! If you know a child who is interested and would enjoy spreading the word about conservation, sustainability, recycling and healthy living, SIGN UP HERE.
Also, we will continue to collect plastic water bottles (collection bin is currently in the WOS lobby) to raise money for Hi Tor Animal Shelter ! Remember, the container MUST have a proper New York refund label. The Hi-Tor Animal Shelter strives to make this a better world for both animals and people. Let’s do our part! Help Hi Tor animals while helping OUR PLANET!
