William O. Schaefer Elementary School students donated more than 275 Blizzard Boxes for local seniors who rely on Meals on Wheels Programs & Services of Rockland County. Blizzard Boxes are an emergency food program to ensure that homebound recipients have a sufficient supply of non-perishable food items in the event that a weather-related emergency disrupts delivery service.

Meals on Wheels representatives Sharon Martini and Dianna Diffley, along with other volunteers, visited WOS yesterday to share information about their organization and acknowledge students with certificates. Staff members Mrs. Elizabeth Barsanti, Mrs. Caralyn Cosgrove and Ms. Heidi Hill, in collaboration with SOCES PTA, organized the annual drive, which WOS has held for more than 15 years.
