Shout out to Domenick M. for his Claymation video. Is there anyone else out there inspired to do the same?
I love this contest but you are too young. If you get get an older friend or sibling to enter with you… go for it! Or make one for the class with a word from WordMasters!
Rules for CLE’s contest:
Include the written word and definition in your video.
Your video should be no more than 15 seconds, but can be shorter.
You can work alone, with a partner or in a group, but only one submission.
Use your imagination. You can act the word out, animate it, use puppets, draw, sing a song, create a dance, incorporate photographs, create a Claymation, or anything else that will help viewers understand and learn your word.
Upload your video to your google account. Send your link to kmcbride@socsd.org.
Let’s add joy to this Holiday Season.
Here is a great example – “Chilly” the Snowman
Have fun!
Where do new words come from?
Check out this personal project. It displays the expression of words and their creation of the visual world around us.
Challenge: Create one of your own!
New York Times – At a moment when dictionaries are becoming social media powerhouses, and lexicographers “word-nerd celebrities,” we’re pleased to say that nearly 900 teenagers from around the world participated in our latest 15-Second Vocabulary Video Contest.
Below you can view the work of our winners, listed in alphabetical order, as well as find a list of runners-up and honorable mentions. As always, our choices were chiefly based on originality and how well each video showed an understanding of the word and its use in a specific context. As always, we were sticklers for the rules.
