New York Times – At a moment when dictionaries are becoming social media powerhouses, and lexicographers “word-nerd celebrities,” we’re pleased to say that nearly 900 teenagers from around the world participated in our latest 15-Second Vocabulary Video Contest.

Below you can view the work of our winners, listed in alphabetical order, as well as find a list of runners-up and honorable mentions. As always, our choices were chiefly based on originality and how well each video showed an understanding of the word and its use in a specific context.
