TAH Lesson 16: The Preamble to the Constitution

We the people of the United States –. • form a more perfect Union – (to create a better government), • establish Justice – (to create a system of courts) • insure domestic tranquility – (peace in our country)• provide for the common defense (to create and maintain a military)• promote the general welfare – (to have a strong economy, population and society) • to secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity – to bring freedom and liberty to the people now and in the future • do ordain and establish  (give people power)- this Constitution for the United States of America.

  1. I think the most important word in the preamble is freedom. The people should be able to have freedom so they can do whatever they want instead of being bossed around by King George. He was telling the colonists they had to pay taxes and the colonists said no more. They wanted their freedom.

  2. “Insure domestic tranquility” I think this is most important part because I think everyone should have life in peace.The people should have peace as well as we do.And that is why I think this is the most important part.

  3. i think the most important part of this article is “do ordain and establish” because not everyone agrees and people have their own opinion on things, so people need a main system of voting and making decisions for the people, then everyone would have a fair chance to share their opinions with the government.
