Throughout the month of March, the Tappan Library will host an exhibit of work created by 32 Tappan Zee High School artists in honor of International Youth Art Month. The opening reception is Tuesday, March 3, 4:00-6:00PM.
“We have a lot of hidden talent in our high school and this show will showcase the breadth of that talent,” said TZHS Art Team Leader Donna Grasso. “Many of our students are displaying their artwork publicly for the first time and are really excited for this opportunity.”
The exhibit will include 2-D, 3-D, sculpted and painted media, photography and self-portrait hand drawings. The artists whose work will be featured are: Liyana Astafa, Ava Bourne, Philip Bray, Dylan Canter, Maddison Dickison, Cate Doyle, Michaela Duggan, Hannah Frasca, Reilly Johnson, Elysia Leigh, Devin Lopez, Jason Tyler Lugue, Melvin Mancia, Tia Marar, Shannon Martin, Alivia Martinez, Laura McCabe, Madeline McCarthy, Sebastian Melendez, Isabella Moreno, Jamie Mulholland, Sena Namkung, Madeline Olcott, Sophia Palitti, Olivia Pennock, Kaitlyn Pinilla, Darlyn Lopez Rodriguez, Carly Sardo, Samantha Talone, Wyatt Teitelbaum, Grace Temple and Michelle Trozzo.
Each year, thousands of schools across the globe participate–often in partnership with civic organizations–in International Youth Art Month, which promotes art and art education. Thanks to the Tappan Library for providing our artists with a venue to share their work with our community!
