Tappan Zee High School

Eighty-eight Tappan Zee High School students were recognized by the College Board as 2019 AP Scholars for outstanding college-level achievement through their performance on multiple Advanced Placement (AP) exams over the course of their high school careers.

“Having so many of our students recognized by the College Board is a great honor and reflects our commitment to offering a rigorous and diverse academic program,” said Principal Rudy Arietta. “And it speaks volumes about the type of student we have at Tappan Zee. These students are willing to challenge themselves and rise to the high level of expectations that our AP teachers set in their classrooms.”

TZHS 2019 graduates Brian Curtis, Palak Oza and Logan Tabor were named National AP Scholars for receiving an average score of at least 4 on all AP Exams taken and scores of 4 or higher on eight or more exams. Eighteen students earned AP Scholar With Distinction recognition for receiving an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP Exams taken and scores of 3 or higher on five or more exams. Twenty-one AP Scholars with Honor received an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP Exams taken and scores of 3 or higher on four or more exams.
