ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR SOMS STUDENTS
Attention 8th Graders and Parents: Fundraising items from Big Apple for the Washington Trip will be distributed tomorrow during 9th period in room 307. Please listen for the announcement over the PA for when to go up to room 307.
ATTENTION ATHLETES- THE WINTER SEASON STARTS ON MONDAY, NOVEMBER 30TH. Please see the SOMS Announcements page for details on physicals and registration information.
SOMS is looking for a talented student to design the cover of next year’s Agenda Book! Submissions are due to the main office by December 18th. Please see the SOMS Announcements page for additional information.
The Italian Club is sponsoring a toiletry drive to collect toiletries for the homeless and needy. Donations will be collected during homeroom. Each item is worth points and the homeroom that gets the most points will win a party. There are posters around the building and outside Mrs. Avantifiori’s room that indicate the point value of each item. Toiletry Drive
GSA meeting will be tomorrow. Meet Mrs. Shaw in the cafeteria immediately after school to take the shuttle bus to TZHS for a meeting with the TZHS GSA. You must have a ride home from TZHS at 4 pm sharp. There is no late bus.
The next meeting of the Art Club will be after school tomorrow in room 187.
There will be a full NJHS meeting for current 8th grade members after school in the Auditorium on Wednesday. ALL members are required to attend. If you are unable to attend please let Ms. Condon or Mrs. Fagan know prior to the meeting.
The robotics club will be meeting after school on Wednesday in room 180.
There will be a meeting for the Strategic Gaming Club on Wednesday in room 230.
Student Council will be meeting after school on Wednesday.
There will be an Italian club meeting after school Wednesday in room 233.
The next meeting of the Math Club will be Thursday in room 324.
Ms. Wood’s Go Green Scrapbooking Club will meet next Thursday, 11/19 afterschool in room 323 till 4:00. We will be taking our Yearbook picture so please try to arrive on time. Bring your scrapbooks and photos and any other supplies you will need. New members are always welcome!
The next SADD club meeting will be meeting Tuesday, November 24th. Please see Mrs. Shaw if you have any questions. New members are always welcome.
The Actors’ Information Meeting for Once Upon a Mattress will be held in the SOMS Auditorium on November 24th from 4:00 – 5:00. You may not stay after school to wait for the meeting. You may attend an office hour, but must be with an adult until 4 pm. We will discuss the show, the audition process, and our expectations for rehearsals and behavior. Please make every effort to attend this meeting if you are planning on auditioning. **This meeting is NOT for those interested in joining a crew.
