ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR SOMS STUDENTS
SAVE THE DATE! The 2nd Annual SOMS Stem Challenge is scheduled for Saturday, November 14th. Registration will be available next week. Start getting your teams of four together!
Attention 8th Graders – The Sterling Mineral Mine trip permission slip is due back with a check for $32 made out to SOMS by Friday!
Attention all Italian Club Members: There will be a meeting for all members after school from 3:00-4:00. Come ready to play soccer, bocce and other games. If you are participating in the Pot-luck dinner this Friday, you must attend the meeting. If you cannot, please see Mrs. Avantifiori today.
There will be a Modified Ice Hockey meeting after school in room 152 at 3:30. All that are interested in playing Ice Hockey this year must attend.
The next meeting of the art club will be after school in room #187. Please bring a snack!
Student Council will be meeting after school today in room 228.
The Book Fair will be next week, Monday through Friday, in the SOMS Library. This year, there will also be one evening date – from 7-8pm on Tuesday.
Attention Parents: Please join the SOMS PTA for a conversation with Mrs. Tesik about changing friendships in Middle School. See you on Tuesday at 7:30 in the library.
Attention SADD Club – Any student going on the field trip to STAC on November 6th, please see Mrs. Shaw for a permission slip. The next SADD club meeting will be after school on Tuesday.
Digital Media will be meeting next Wednesday after school in room 180. Please be sure to hand in a permission slip to the main office.
The Actors’ Information Meeting for Once Upon a Mattress will be held in the SOMS Auditorium on November 24th from 4:00 – 5:00. You may not stay after school to wait for the meeting. You may attend an office hour, but must be with an adult until 4 pm. We will discuss the show, the audition process, and our expectations for rehearsals and behavior. Please make every effort to attend this meeting if you are planning on auditioning. **This meeting is NOT for those interested in joining a crew.
