ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR SOMS STUDENTS
SOMS is looking for a talented student to design the cover of next year’s Agenda Book! Submissions are due to the main office by December 18th. Please see the SOMS Announcements page for additional information.
Attention all students: SADD club is sponsoring a day called Kindness Matters on December 18th. That day, SADD Club will be handing out red bracelets during homeroom that say KINDNESS MATTERS on them. Also, please wear red to support us and show that Kindness Matters.
The Italian Club is sponsoring a toiletry drive to collect toiletries for the homeless and needy. Donations will be collected during homeroom. Each item is worth points and the homeroom that gets the most points will win a party. There are posters around the building and outside Mrs. Avantifiori’s room that indicate the point value of each item. The deadline for donations is this Wednesday! Toiletry Drive
The next SOMS PTA meeting date has been changed. The new date is Monday, December 14th, 7:30 pm in the SOMS library. This replaces the December 21st meeting. The agenda includes a conversation with parents of incoming 5th graders.
SADD club is sponsoring TOYS FOR TOTS & TEENS. Please donate new, unwrapped toys and games to help make a difference in the lives of needy children of Rockland County. (No guns, bow and arrows or stuffed animals.)
Collection ends on December 21, 2015. Drop off donations in the box in the main lobby.
Attention students auditioning for “Once Upon a Mattress” – All songs required for the audition process have now been posted on the musical website. Please check the website for instructions. Remember to sign up for the two audition times and days – today for dance and tomorrow or Wednesday for acting and singing. The sign-up sheets are posted outside of room 239. If you have any questions, see Mrs. Fodor in room 239 during HR, period 6 or period 7.
GSA club will be meeting tomorrow from 3:00-4:00 in Room 329. New members are always welcome!
Softball workouts will begin tomorrow at 7:30 in the TZHS gym for 8th graders interested in trying out this spring.
The Yearbook Club will be meeting after school Wednesday is room 228.
Robotics Club will be meeting after school Wednesday in room 180.
There is a full NJHS meeting for current 8th grade members after school in the Auditorium on Wednesday. ALL members are required to attend. If you are unable to attend please let Ms. Condon or Mrs. Fagan know prior to the meeting.
The next Games and Strategies meeting will be after school Thursday in room 230.
Attention SADD Club Members – the next meeting is Tuesday, December 15th at TZHS! Meet Mrs. Shaw in the cafeteria immediately after dismissal. Students must have a ride home from the HS at 4:15pm. New members are always welcome!
The next Go Green/Scrapbooking Club meeting will be Thursday, Dec 17th after school till 4:00. Please bring your supplies and pictures. New members are always welcome. Please See Ms. Wood in room 323 for a permission slip.
