The Scholastic Art and Writing Awards celebrates the visionary talents of all students and provides them with the opportunities for exhibition, publication, and scholarships. This year they received 300,000 submissions of art and writing. Ms. Arlene Sorensen student Hannah A., a seventh grade Challenge Lab student won number one in the nation in the category of sculpture. Over the program’s history, luminaries such as Andy Warhol, Sylvia Plath, Joyce Carol Oates, Robert Redford, Stephen King and Ken Burns, have won this wonderful award.
This year’s ceremony took place at Carnegie Hall on June 11, 2015.
