Attention all students: If the temperature is between 21 and 45 degrees you MUST have a minimum of either a sweatshirt or fleece jacket to go outside for recess. If the temperature drops below 21 degrees, there will be no outdoor recess. Please remember to bring your jacket to recess if you want to go outside.
French club will be meeting Today 3/22 at 3pm in Mme Spatz’s room. Come and celebrate the francophone world!
Are you interested in recycling? SOMS is looking to hear from students about how we can increase our recycling efforts. We will be meeting after-school on Thursday, March 30 in Dr. Corey’s office. Topics to be discussed include how to create posters or signs about recycling and composting in the cafeteria next year.
The NJHS needs your help to fill Dr. Coreys office with cans of food! All students are reminded that donations should be brought to lunch and given to the teacher in charge. Your donations help to feed the hungry here in Rockland and may win you a Super Homework Pass! For every can of food you donate you will get an entry in a drawing for a super homework pass.
The Social Awareness and Inclusion club is meeting on Thursday, March 30th to plan for our joint meeting with three other clubs to help make positive changes in our school.
Any student applying for NJHS who has any questions or concerns about any part of the application process should speak with Mrs. Beckmann or Mr. Goldstein. The completed application is due by April 14th.
All NJHS members are reminded to make sure they are bringing in their canned food donations and are aware of the date they signed up to help deliver cans during the 8th grade lunch period.

Any 7th or 8th grade girl interested in playing modified softball this spring there will be an information meeting Wednesday March 22 in the gym
Girls Modified lacrosse will have a meeting Today at 3:30 in the gym
Boys Modified lacrosse will have a meeting Today after school in Mr. McWilliams room 329
Boys Modified Tennis practice begins Monday, March 27th. Meet in Mr. Goldstein’s room (186). Bring a tennis racket and have a ride home from SOMS at 4pm.
