Cycle Day 5

Attention all students: If the temperature is between 21 and 45 degrees you MUST have a minimum of either a sweatshirt or fleece jacket to go outside for recess.  If the temperature drops below 21 degrees, there will be no outdoor recess.  Please remember to bring your jacket to recess if you want to go outside

The 6th grade ELA Institute will be held Today

Debate Date! Our next Debate Club meeting is Today 3/9/23 in the SOMS Library at 3pm. Be ready to debate about the 6th grade Flex period.

Do you want to create positive changes in our school? We are looking for leaders in our school community who want to really make a difference. Please come to our next Social Awareness and Inclusion Club Today, March 9th with some real-world ideas to strengthen our core values. When: Afterschool Today, March 9th. Where? Room 231

Get your bird on Today in the cafeteria. Yard Bird will be serving crispy chicken cutlet, pickles and secret sauce on a kaiser roll with steak fries.

The Robotics Club will be meeting on Tues. March 14th and Tues. March 21st. Both groups can come to both sessions. Please see Mr. G. if you have any questions.

The Yearbook Club will meet on Wednesday (March 15th), afterschool in room 153.

The Costume, Make Up and Stage crews for Shrek should check the classroom.  There are updates and schedules either posted or will be posted for you very soon.

A reminder to any 7th grade students planning to apply to join NJHS next year, teacher recommendations must be submitted by March 17th. All recommendations should be requested by email using the format and link that were provided- as teacher recommendations are received they are marked off in Google Classroom.

The NJHS needs your help to fill Dr. Coreys office with cans of food! For every can of food you donate you will get an entry in a drawing for a super homework pass. Six lucky students will win… the more cans you donate the more chances you have to win! All food will be donated to People to People. We are hoping to fill Dr. Coreys office space with donated food… drop off your donations at lunch, join in the fun, help a great cause and maybe you will win!

Sports

Middle School Athletics registration for 7th & 8th graders is now open on the Athletics Website. Sign up today! The spring season for middle school sports begins on Monday, March 27th!

The following sports are available at the middle school level:

Boys & Girls Track & Field, Softball, Girls Lacrosse, Baseball, Boys Lacrosse & Boys Tennis

If there is any boy or girl in the 7th or 8th grade that has experience playing golf and would like to be considered for the HS team, please see Mr. Drivas so he can get you into contact with the HS coaches.
