Attention all students: If the temperature is between 21 and 45 degrees you MUST have a minimum of either a sweatshirt or fleece jacket to go outside for recess. If the temperature drops below 21 degrees, there will be no outdoor recess. Please remember to bring your jacket to recess if you want to go outside
We will be having a locker cleanout on Friday, February 17 during homeroom. The Custodians will be leaving bags in the hallways for the students to throw out unwanted items from their lockers. Homeroom teachers and all teachers on Hall Duty during homeroom, please encourage the students to take home any extra clothing and clean out their lockers before the break. Library books may be brought up to the library to be returned.
Science Olympiad will be meeting after school Today. Please wait in the hallway outside the challenge lab immediately after school.
It’s THROWBACK THURSDAY and we have some vintage outfits walking around! The SOMS NJHS thanks our students and staff for their support of our Spirit Week efforts. If you are wearing a throwback outfit today, make sure Mr. Goldstein sees you and takes a picture if you want a chance to be in this year’s yearbook.
Any NJHS member who did not drop off their Spirit Week donations is reminded to make sure they do so, giving them to Mrs. Beckmann or Mr. Goldstein.
Today’s 6th grade ELA Institute is cancelled.
Today the Cafeteria will be having a Stuffed baked potato day! Potatoes with texas chili, cheddar cheese, broccoli, and bacon!
Tomorrow the cafeteria will be having a Pasta Bar: Rotini with meatballs, meat sauce, marinara, alfredo and parmesan cheese!
Submissions for next year’s Agenda book cover are due this Friday. Any 6th or 7th grade student that would like to submit a design around the theme of Friendship (Be Kind) should drop them off in the main office.
Just a reminder that the 6th grade E3 cycle will end on February 23rd and the new 6th grade E4 cycle will begin on March 1st. The new 6th grade E4 Explore lists will be hanging up outside of Mr. Goldstein’s room 186 and Mr. Freeley’s room 171.
The 7th Grade E3 Study hall and Music Explore cycle will also end on February 23rd and the new 7th grade E4 Study hall and Music Explore will also begin on March 1st. The new 7th grade E4 lists will be hanging up outside the library.
March 3rd is a Beach Day! Show your school spirit and wear your best beachy outfit! Outfits must be appropriate- no bathing suits. Suggestions are Hawaiian shirts, flipflops, shorts, beach hats, sundress, sunglasses or a shirt of your favorite beach!
