SOMS Announcements

SOMS is looking for a talented 6^th or 7^th grade student to design the cover of next year’s Agenda Book!  The theme for this year is our “4 C’s” of communication, collaboration, critical thinking and creativity.  Submissions (on an 8 ½ by 11 piece of paper) are due to the main office by Friday, December 9^th. 

The school store will be open TODAY during all lunch periods.

We will be having our first locker cleanout of the year on Tuesday November 22, 2016 before homeroom. Please take home clothing to be washed, return any library books that are due and clean out your lockers before Thanksgiving Recess.

The NJHS is working with the Legacy X Foodbank to collect food for those in need.  There will be a box in the main lobby, and we are asking you to bring in canned/boxed goods to help local families.  We will be running the food drive through December 22^nd and a full wish list of food will be posted outside Mrs. Fagan’s and Ms. Condon’s classrooms, as well as on the collection box. Thank you for your generosity!

Learn more about what is happening in our classrooms! The South Orangetown Family Resource Center and SOMS PTA are hosting this upcoming K-12 parent workshop on November 29. Register by November 23^rd.

Attention 8^th graders going on the Sterling Mineral Mines trip Monday, Nov. 21.  If you use an inhaler or an Epi-Pen, please remember to bring yours with you.

ATTENTION Modified Girls Soccer Students:  PLEASE RETURN ALL UNIFORMS TO MRS. DITURI in Rm 230 as soon as possible.
