Nearly two dozen South Orangetown Middle School teachers and administrators gamely volunteered to have their faces bathed in shaving cream to support the National Junior Honor Society’s 7th Annual Pie-in-the-Face event to benefit Make-A-Wish Hudson Valley.
“The Pie-in-the-Face fundraiser is a proud SOMS tradition and students raised $1,200 this year,” said Adolfo Godinez, who co-advises NJHS with Kerry Beckmann. “The Make-A-Wish Foundation does so much for people in the Hudson Valley; we are glad to support them.”
NJHS officers and advisors expressed their gratitude to all who contributed to this event, with special thanks to the good-humored SOMS administrators and faculty volunteers: Burke Anderson, Robert Calone, Louis Chugranis, Luke Freeley, Chip Foley, Eric Goldstein, Morgan Harris, Paige Nadell, Jaclyn Nandlal, Joseph Napoli, Maureen O’Sullivan, Vincent Piscitelli, Lisa Rogo, Jill Rutherford, Ronald Scherer, Glenn Spiegelman, Stephanie Stehly, Gregory Sullivan, and Pamela Tarasco; especially our Principal Chad Corey and Assistant Principal Joe Onativia.
