Congratulations to eighth-grader Gisella P., South Orangetown Middle School’s New York Jets Upstander of the Week! Her teachers say that Gisella embodies the best Upstander qualities because she is an advocate for all. People gravitate towards her empathetic and supportive nature, particularly SOMS’ younger students. Gisella has taken others under her wing, and helped them learn to navigate their schedule and middle school life. Congratulations, Gisella, and keep up the great work!
This is the third school year that South Orangetown Middle School has participated in the New York Jets and Stomp Out Bullying’s Upstander of the Week program, which aims to reduce and prevent bullying nationwide. Students recognized receive a t-shirt, two tickets to a Jets home game and a parking pass.
