South Orangetown Middle School

Dr. Chad Corey was named Principal of South Orangetown Middle School, effective March 15, 2019. Dr. Corey had served as Interim Assistant Principal since last July, following three years as the school’s Assistant Principal. “We are thrilled that Dr. Corey will continue the excellent work that he began as Interim Principal,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Robert Pritchard. “His leadership has been instrumental in promoting a culture of respect and responsibility, where everyone is encouraged to give their best effort.”

Prior to joining the South Orangetown Central School District, Dr. Corey spent 13 years at Felix Festa Middle School, first as a music teacher, and then as dean of students. He holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education from Ithaca College, a Master of Science degree in Music Education from Central Connecticut State University, a Certificate of Advanced Study in School Leadership from SUNY New Paltz and Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) degree in K-12 School Administration from Seton Hall University.
