Although the New York Jets Upstander of the Week program extends through the end of December, Upstanders for Weeks 15-17 must be recognized early because they are awarded tickets for the December 15 Jets vs. Texans game. South Orangetown Middle School is announcing its Upstanders as they are notified, and will be honoring two Upstanders this week and next.
Congratulations to SOMS Week 15 New York Jets Upstander Anthony D.! This Upstander’s nominating teachers all agree that he is a generous, kind young man: “He always has smile on his face and an uplifting, positive attitude. He is respectful to his teachers and fellow students and is always willing to help and get involved.”
Anthony, a big Jets fan, feels that everyone can benefit from being an Upstander. “Everyone should be nice,” he says. “It just feels good–it’s joy inside your bones.”
In addition to school-wide recognition over the public announcement system, Anthony received a Jets Tackle Bullying t-shirt, three tickets to the December 15 game and a parking pass.
