“This is a big honor,” said South Orangetown Middle School sixth-grader Jill H. this afternoon, upon learning that she had been selected as the school’s New York Jets Upstander of the Week.
Jill was nominated for her positive attitude and willingness to help to students and teachers whenever they need it. Although she says that learning her way around the building took some time, Jill’s teachers report that she constantly looks for ways to make other students’ days easier by assisting with lockers and books. “Jill is a great role model and truly exemplifies our team motto of ‘Friendship, Kindness, Courage and Character!'” they wrote.
