This morning we ent outside and got to see three different fire trucks from the Tappan, Orangeburg, and Blauvelt fire departments.  At each station, we learned about what firefighters do, and how to stay safe if there were a fire.

When we came back to the classroom, we decided to make a book all about fire safety facts.  Some people chose to work by themselves but most children worked with a partner.  Nicholas liked working with a partner because he could draw with another person.  Sean chose to work with a partner because he felt successful having someone to share ideas with.  Miles liked working by himself because he thinks he writes better that way.  Ms. Stern shared our work when most people were done.  We realized that everyone was being really good listeners when the firefighters spoke.  We learned a lot!
