Earlier this week, Madeline and Michael’s moms (our Germ Smart Coordinators) came in and brought with them lots of information AND unexpected friends: germs! We read a book called Germs, Germs, Germs.
Then we got to look at and pass around a bunch of different “germs” that we could see with our own eyes, instead of only being able to see them with a microscope.
Here, Michael’s mom sprayed her hand with water and pretended to sneeze. She went around trying to shake hands with some of the children in the class.
Here we can see how easily and quickly germs can spread by using different colors of glitter!
Watch what happens when germs come in contact with soap.
Our final Germ Smart activity was learning how to properly wash our hands. Michael’s mom brought in singing stuffed animals to help us pass the time and to make sure that we are washing with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
Thank you to Madeline and Michael’s moms for coming in and teaching us all about being germ smart!
Hi Ms. Stern,
I played the Block Pattern game. I made a repeating ABCDE pattern.
See you tomorrow,
Michael
