We saw a performance by the Hudson Vagabond Puppets.  The show was called Butterfly.  It was about the life cycle of a caterpillar as it changes, starting with the butterfly that laid an egg.  A caterpillar hatched from the egg.  It ate and ate and ate a lot of milkweed leaves.  Finally, it felt ready to hang upside down.  A frog, a praying mantis, a bird, and a beetle were singing a song, teaching the caterpillar about the changes that were coming.  When it was upside down, the caterpillar formed a chrysalis.  Finally, when it was ready, it emerged as a butterfly.  At first, it couldn’t fly but then it was able to.  The butterfly was ready, it flew with the others far, far away (to Mexico).  When the butterfly came back, it laid an egg, just like how the story started.  Carlos liked seeing the people making the puppets work.  April liked the bird.  She thought it was cute.  Jamie the spider because she saw one just like it in a book that she read.  Farrah also liked the spider and its web.
