Get out your markers or crayons!  Let your imagination soar!

Dear Students,

To prepare for Vocabulary assessments, each student in our class is assigned a word to study and teach to their peers.  Please plan to present a letter-size poster (paper will be provided by me).  You will need to refer to the work you did in class when you found the word’s definition/s, part/s of speech, and examples of the word used in a sentence.  Your poster must include the following:

  1. A cut-out of word (I have provided)
  2. The word’s definition/s
  3. Its part of speech (noun, verb, adverb, adjective)
  4. An original sentence using the word in a way that explains the word’s meaning
  5. An illustration (or graphic) to support your sentence; one that depicts the meaning of the word
  6. Your name

You need to go on-line and use SpellingCity to study the words.  First study the words and then you can play games like Scatter and Space Race to prepare for the vocabulary assessment.

Be creative and have fun!  We can’t wait to see your work!
