**Weekly extra credit opportunity below (+5 points on HW average):

1. View one astronomy picture of the day image during the week (click on link below).

2. Write down several quantitative and qualitative observations and inferences on the image.  (Quantitative observations – includes numerical values; Qualitative observations – describes the observations)

Ex. “My observations: I see one circular object.  It has many light and dark areas.  My inferences:  I think I am looking at the sun because it is orange-red and circular.  The dark areas might be sunspots areas.  The lighter areas might be cooler areas on the sun.”

3. Hand in completed extra credit with your name, the date of the picture, and picture caption on it to your teacher within the week of the picture.
