Distance Learning Letter to my Students

Dear Students and families,

First, I want to take this moment to reach out to all of you and let you know that I am thinking of you during this very unprecedented time in both our country and schools. I want you to know that I am here for you all, I am only a quick email or message away and I look forward to hearing about your days.

I know that many of you are confused and have lots of questions, you are not alone.  I care about you all deeply and think about you daily…your health and well-being are at the top of my list.  I know that distance learning hasn’t started as of yet but you have all been active members of our ELA classroom community and you know what you can do to keep your mind active.  You all have book club books at home, you made your schedules with your clubs, and you have Writing About your Reading packets. You can also journal write about your days or create new or old stories.  Think about going outside in the sun if you can, take care of yourself physically and mindfully.  Look around, slow down, and find the beauty in the life around you.

For us to keep in touch digitally right now follow these steps:  If you haven’t done so already, please join your ELA Google classroom using the codes on the Google classroom page above.  I posted you a note and a quick, “How are you doing?” assignment. There is no due date for this, I just wanted a way to connect with you all sooner rather than later.

When I have more information from the state and our district about our distance learning plan I will be in touch about specific assignments and due dates.  For now, stay safe, healthy, and know that you are not alone, together we can .

All my love,

Mrs. Harris
