Summer is a great opportunity to take learning into your own hands. No one should pass up the opportunity to dive into a good book, refine skills that interest you most or explore the world around you. Here is a list that you might want to consider or even add your own. It was a challenge to keep the list to ten, so hopefully your summer is filled with many more activities too.
1. Read, read, read!
2. Continue to grow and enhance your math skills over the summer with DreamBox and Tang Math Games.
3. Try geocaching with your family, either at home or on vacation.
4. Connect with nature. Go for a hike, go fishing or try a new water sport you have never down before.
5. Complete a puzzle – 1,000 piece puzzle, Sudoku, Rubik’s Cube, crossword puzzle, etc.
6. Write a letter telling someone how much they matter. Send it snail mail.
7. Spend a half hour gazing at the clouds and stars. Then sketch, draw, or paint your images.
8. Visit a museum or monument. If you can’t get there explore Google Arts & Culture website.
9. Interview an older family member to hear their life story. Create a video presentation about him/her and share it with him/her.
10. Design and build something. How about a popsicle stick and rubber band paddle boat?
Post to this blog about your summer experiences. We can learn from each other, be inspired by others, and connect with each other.
Be safe & have fun!
