Iditarod 2016

The Iditarod has been called the “Last Great Race on Earth” for a good reason.  It is a sled dog race that starts in Anchorage, Alaska and ends over 1,000 miles away in Nome.  The landscape is treacherous, and the weather is unforgiving. This race serves to memorialize all the things sled dogs have done in history and for the people of Alaska, but part of the trail raced today is the historical trail mushers used to bring life-saving medicine to Nome during an epidemic of diphtheria in 1925. View The Last Great Race,  What is the Iditarod? and Inside the Iditarod. Find out what you know about the Iditarod.     I think Dallas Seavey will win. I think this because he has won it more than 4 times. My hopes are up!!!!!!:)

    I think Lars Monsen will win. I think this because he loved the outdoors and dogsled races. Lets go Monsen!!!

    I am putting my vote on Kristen Berington! One reason I am putting my vote on her is because she is a girl. I think it is good that girls are starting to enter in more competitions! Another reason I think she is going to win is because she grew up in Wasilla, Alaska! Finally she started mushing when she was 10 years old! I really think that she has a high chance of winning!

    I think katherine keith will win this year because she has a trainer who is focusing on having the best dogs.

    I think Joar Liefseth Ulsom will win because he clocked the 5th fastest run in the Iditarod. Joar Liefseth Ulsom also holds the record for fastest rookie in Iditarod. Joar is one of only two mushers to place top 7 three times in just three Iditarods.

    I think John Baker is going to win because he won in 2011 so he should be experienced. He also looks like a guy who’s going to win.

    I think Tom Jamgochian will win because he lives near where the race ends so ,aybe he nows shotcuts

    i think mitch seavey will win because he has won before and he has been playing for a long time.His father used to compete in the iditarod race

    I’m going to be Richie diehl . I think Richie diehl is going to win because it said that he has been doing the iditarod race since he was a kid

    I’m rooting for tim pappas. I just read his paragraph, and I already think he is an iditarod winner. Tim is a 4 time champion. I’m SUPER excited. Don’t let me down, Pappas!

    I think Joar Liefseth Ulsom will win because he has a fast time.Also he is awesome

    I think Rick Casillo will win.He started mushing in 2002.That means he has been mushing for over 10 years.Let’s go Rick Casillo

    I think Lance Mackey will win because he won more than four times.I’m really excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I think Lance Mackey will win because he was born and raised in Alaska. He also said he has been racing for a long time. He’s raced in many races.

    I think that Tore Albrigtsen will win because he’s been mushing since 1978.

    I think Robert Sorlie will win because he has been instrested in mushing since 1970. He has won the Iditarod race twice.
