September 11, 2023 marks the passage of twenty-two years since the day that changed our lives forever. Please visit the 9/11 Memorial & Museum to learn something new.

The Man in the Red Bandanna, Fireboat: The Heroic Adventures of the John J. Harvey,  and 14 Cows for America are all wonderful stories about September 11th.  September Roses is another sweet story that demonstrates love and empathy on September 11th. Its summary states “On September 11, 2001, two sisters from South Africa are flying to New York City with 2,400 roses to be displayed at a flower show. As their plane approaches the airport, a cloud of black smoke billows over the Manhattan skyline. When they land, they learn of the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center. All flights are canceled; the sisters cannot go home, and they are stranded with boxes and boxes of roses.”

Whenever I see roses, I think of these two women.  Try making a paper rose and give to a first responder or leave at a 9/11 Memorial.
