Have you heard of the peregrine falcon nest at the top of the old Tappan Zee Bridge? They have been nesting there for years, and no, they don’t know what to do about them when the bridge eventually comes down. A pair of falcons just laid eggs up there, and the TZ Bridge Outreach is asking students to help name the little ones when they hatch. Check out the nest, LIVE: Tappan Zee Peregrine Falcons. and start thinking. The TZ Bridge Team will be sending more information, and Mr. Tanenbaum will keep us updated. Start posting some ideas to our blog.
Fun Fact: Top speed ever measured for one of these birds is 242 miles per hour.
I would want to name it Speedy. My teacher said that they were the fastest animals in the world, which is why I think Speedy is a good name.
Our class did a vote for the name of the Peregrine Falcon birds and our winning name was Leonardo di Birdio.
