April is National Poetry Month. It is about sharing and celebrating the wonder of poetry and how its expresses feelings and ideas with intensity. Students in Mrs. Fluger’s class shared the beauty of poetry by putting it in a public place. Students picked a favorite line from a poem, picked a clean piece of sidewalk, grabbed chalk, and wrote the line. Some attracted extra attention to their work by adding drawings for extra fun. Passersby paused to read the lines. You too can share poetry by putting a little poetry into someone's path. Upload a picture to this post if you do!
Explore poetry by downloading the free Poetry App. This app has great poetry read aloud by great actors. There are over 100 poems from sixteen of the greatest poets of all time, accompanied by video and audio narrations from over 30 world class actors. In honor of poetry month explore the power of poetry through the narrations of world-class actors.
Great idea Mrs.Fluger and class! 😀 That was a very inspirational video… also, my friend has that app and the poetry is very great on it! This is making me want to grab a poetry book of the shelf…
A nice short video, happy Poetry Month ;)!
