*** Good story. I was engaged in the story most of the time. Some parts were really interesting.

** OK story. Some parts were good, but there were lots of parts I found boring.

* Thumbs down. I did not like this story. I had a hard time getting through it. Others might like it, but it was not for me.

Example:

Hatchet, by Gary Paulsen, is a story about a boy who must survive on his own in the Canadian wilderness. It’s full of adventure in every chapter! The author makes you feel like you’re right there with Brian. Will he ever see his mother again? Rating *****

  1. My realistic fiction book is called the invention of Hugo Carbot.Hugo Cabret lives in the walls of a train station in 1930s Paris. Hugo’s job is to oil and maintain the station’s clocks but in his opinion his more important task is to protect a broken automaton and a notebook filled with how to fix the automan left to him by his late father and of course make and fix the automan. He finds a friend named isabelle and his godfather who owns a toy shop in the train statation. Hugo is always wanting for adventure (and trouble!! :mr.green:)
I think this book is *****starts!!! 🙂

  2. I am reading The Bad Beginning written by Lemony Snicket. It is a touching book. One writing style Lemony Snicket uses is that he sees the humor in even the most horrible situations. The main idea of this book is that there are three children whose parents just passed away in a fire, and so they have to live with a distant relative named Count Olaf who is really, really mean. Will they live with Count Olaf for the rest of their lives? ****

  3. My realistic fiction book is is called 11 Birthdays by Wendy Mass. The main idea is a girl named Amanda who should be happy because it’s her birthday, but she’s not. She can’t wait for her birthday to be over. But, the next day, it’s her birthday all over again! Now what is Amanda going to do? I would describe this book as a touching story about friendship. The author’s style is funny and entertaining, and makes you not want to put the book down. I would give this book *****.

  5. The title of this book is Revenge of the Flower Girls. The author is Jennifer Ziegler. The main idea of the story is, there are three girls and their sister is getting married. They will do anything to stop the wedding. This is a funny book because the author’s style is to make you laugh. Will they stop the wedding or will it go on? I would give this book *****.
